Emerging trends in IT-Software testing
Software Testing is one of the Most Emerging area in IT industry which is rapidly growing. Increased competition and customer demand has made software testing a key operation which demands nowadays top talents and pay packets. A recent survey in Bangalore has shown 24 per cent of recruiting was in the software testing arena.
Software Testing is the Process to Find Defects in a Software to ensure high quality Product. It is used to minimize risk in a Software Product. It is also called as “Finding Faults”.

Companies like Thinksoft Global,RTG,Maveric systems which are one of the leading Independent Software Testing Companies are looking for ISTQB Certified Testers.ISTQB-International Software Testing Qualifications Board is an international software testing exam which is recognized by more than 25 countries in the world.
Research firm Gartner estimates the worldwide software testing market at $ 13 billion and the global outsourcing testing market opportunity in this year to be at $ 4.5 billion. A META group study reveals that the market in India will touch $ 700 million-$ 1 billion by 2007. The potential for outsourced testing is huge; as a result, there is increased demand for skilled testers in India.
Software Testing plays a strategic role in ensuring product quality in the software development process. It helps a software development team focus on the customer’s needs throughout the product cycle. While deploying software solutions, large enterprises today enlist the help of independent validation and verification (Testing) companies to conduct functional testing of the solution. In such cases the company requires domain-specific testing skills.
In software companies, testing professionals work closely with the IT/ development teams to finalise a high-level strategy covering scope, types of testing to be done (functional, load, etc), test environments, defect management and contingency plans and how to validate requirements
Software Testing consists of two parts one is Manual Testing and the second is Automation Testing. There are various Software Testing Tools like Winrunner,QTP etc which are widely used for testing purposes.
For working as a software tester mostly Graduates/Engineers/MCA’s are preferred.Nowadays even some companies take Diploma and arts students as testers.
Most of the companies like TCS,CTS,Wipro,Honeywell are preferring ISTQB Certified Testers.ISTQB exam can be taken in Chennai,Madurai and Tirunelveli in Tamilnadu. In South Tamilnadu training for Software Testing and exam can be taken at Tandem, Tirunelveli & Tandem Madurai centres.
Tandem has produced more than 50 ISTQB Certified Testers who are employed in various software testing companies according to Mr.S.Sundara Pandian, Director of Tandem, Tirunelveli who is also an ISTQB Certified Tester.
